Pembroke Pines, FL, July 13, 2011/ - Blue Ocean Biomedical introduces the LG Series Flow Cytometry Systems, the first fully automated, load & go systems for counting CD4 cells and other lymphocyte subsets. These subsets (percent and absolute counts of T cells, B cells, and NK cells) are used in immune status monitoring for HIV-positive patients and in other medical conditions. This system is being launched at the International AIDS Society (IAS) conference which is being held in Rome, Italy, July 17-20.

Blue Ocean’s new products are the first fully integrated, fluorescence-based, cellular analysis systems dedicated to making specialized testing routine. The first applications will focus on the therapeutic monitoring of patients with HIV.

Fitting the theme of the Congress, “Advances in Cytometric Technology and Applications”, more than 1,800 scientists and medical professionals from around the world were introduced to the CR Series, the first-ever flow cytometer to combine automated sample preparation and analysis in one compact instrument.
