Blue Ocean Biomedical Ships First Instrument for Clinical Evaluation
Blue Ocean's new Immune Monitoring Systems are beginning external clinical evaluation at the Ladymeade Reference Unit, Barbados, and HIV dedicated laboratory.
Pembroke Pines, FL, Aug 13, 2010 / -- Blue Ocean Biomedical announced the beginning of external evaluations of the company’s new Load & Go™ Immune Monitoring Systems, which combine automated sample preparation and flow cytometry analysis in one instrument.
Blue Ocean’s new products are the first fully integrated, fluorescence-based, cellular analysis systems dedicated to making specialized testing routine. The first applications will focus on the therapeutic monitoring of patients with HIV.
The first evaluation site is the Ladymeade Reference Unit Laboratory in Ladymeade Gardens, Barbados. Ladymeade Reference Unit is an HIV dedicated laboratory facility serving over 330,000 people whom are living with HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean. It also offers these tests as a routine service to other Caribbean countries who cannot afford to set up dedicated HIV monitoring facilities. Ladymeade Reference Unit is charged with investigating affordable strategies for the sustainability of HIV monitoring in Barbados and the Caribbean region.
